LMU'S CAYLOR SCHOOL OF NURSING PRESENTS AWARDS AT CONVOCATION
uary 6, 2012 - Lincoln Memorial University’s (LMU) Caylor School of Nursing (CSON) held its first Convocation Ceremony on Thursday, December 15, 2011. The ceremony celebrated the program’s first cohort of generic Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates as well as its first cohort of Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) graduates.
During the Convocation several student awards were presented. The 2011 ASN Lagniappe Award went to Bobby Lynn of Mooresburg, Tenn. The 2011 ASN Student Leadership Award was presented to Jessica Altman of Cosby, Tenn., and the 2011 ASN Academic Achievement Award was given to Aimee Zemke of Heiskell, Tenn. All completed their studies at LMU’s Physicians Regional Medical Center extended learning site in Knoxville, Tenn.
The 2011 BSN Lagniappe Award was given to Nick Goins of Speedwell, Tenn. The 2011 BSN Student Leadership Award was presented to Kelli Howard of Powell, Tenn., and the 2011 BSN Academic Achievement Award was given to Whitney Griffin of Knoxville, Tenn. All completed their studies at LMU’s Cedar Bluff extended learning site in Knoxville, Tenn.
The CSON also presented the Dean’s Award for Exceptional Service and Support to Dr. Ray Penn, assistant professor of philosophy, religion and communication arts.
The CSON offers ASN, BSN and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs at LMU’s main campus in Harrogate, Tenn., and four extended learning sites. The ASN program is offered in Harrogate, Knoxville at Physicians Regional Medical Center (formerly Mercy Medical Center St. Mary’s), Blount County, Tenn., in collaboration with Blount Memorial Hospital and in Corbin, Ky., at Baptist Regional Medical Center. The BSN program is offered at Harrogate and LMU-Cedar Bluff. The MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner is offered at Harrogate and LMU-Cedar Bluff. The MSN in Nurse Anesthesia is offered at Harrogate and the MSN in Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is offered at LMU-Cedar Bluff.
